In this blog, we explore the concept of football-specific fitness and how it differs from the fitness required in other sports. By examining the unique demands of football, we illustrate why fitness developed in other sports is not transferable to football. We highlight Raymond Verheijen's insights, emphasizing that football-specific fitness can only be developed through playing football, where the integration of physical and cognitive demands is essential.
